I received the Hunting Bear knife on Thursday. This knife was intended for my Brother-in-law, but now I like it so much, I'm keeping it for myself ! I gave him my WBK-TSS instead. (he is very happy with it)
From the pictures, I didn't think I would like the handle design, but ones I had it in my hand, I just could not part with it. Thanks for the 2 great knifes. Fantastic quality and value.

I received the knife last week and am really impressed with the quality, fit and finish, and edge retention. I own/operate a survival school called Ozark Mountain Preparedness in NW Arkansas. Obviously, a belt knife is a critical piece of kit and I carry mine literally everyday. I've been searching for sometime now for a replacement for the Bark River Woodland I've carried for the last 4 years and feel this might the be the one. I look forward to using your blade and showing it to students interested in a custom knife for bushcraft and wilderness use. I just got the knife in today! What a fine knife! Fabulous overall finish and build, wonderfully constructed, and very well crafted! The handle is very comfortable, and the wood is quite eye catching! The blade is perfect! Nice and stout!!! I love the even scand-grind ! The angle is perfect for chopping as well as fine cutting! It will sharpen up easily too without stressing trying to find the right angle! I really like the sheath alot! It reminds me of the old school Ka-Bar sheaths, but made with much heavier leather, and significantly stronger! I am going to keep this knife nearby me as much as I possibly can! It sure is a trusty workhorse of a bushcraft system! GO WOODBEAR KNIVES!!!

"I have been enjoying your knives greatly as I have been running courses with students and have been able to put them through their paces.
"Pros: The Nordic bear is a really great knife, I love the narrow ness of the blade and the geometry which is very close to the style of a nordic, in use the knife cuts beautifully, the bamboo handle is realy nice and chunky great in dry or wet hands and the shape of the handle allows you to reverse the knife, but still have a comfortable grip. We already discussed and modified the grind to meet the handle so i don't need to add that here, the sheath is great also and suits the knife perfectly. Oh and the steel you have got that down perfectly, it is as sharp as a razor!
I especially like the feel of the knife, it feels of very high quality and several of my students have commented that they would also like to get one.... So maybe they will."

I just wanted to let you know that I received the Nordic Bear today (it acually came on Sat. but I didn't get it until today, since I had it shipped to work). Wow. I have to hand it to you, you do amazing work--this is an absolutely delightful knife! It is so comfortable in the hand (the thumb scallops are awesome!), solid and wonderfully finished. I love the heft and balance, and I can tell that it will be a real workhorse--even with the very little bit of carving that I did with it today. I am sure this will be one that my kids and eventually grandchildren will enjoy ! Also, A+ on the edge...I do love being able to immediately use a tool when I get it (I am quite used to pulling out the waterstones as I am unwrapping a new tool). The osage orange scales are gorgeous--I can't wait for the color to deepen with age and use; tomorrow I am going to sun-treat it in order to start that process. I'll send you a few pics of it once the wood has naturally darkened. Once again, many thanks; and who knows, I may be looking into a Nordic or Baby Bear for my wife one of these days!

"Recently, I received my first "Woodbear" knife, the "Hunting Bear II". WOW, what a knife! I've got knives from various makers, but factory and custom, and it's pretty rare when something really makes an impression, the Hunting Bear II really screams "quality". The first thing I noticed upon opening the package, was the sheath. Not only is it top class leather, with a nice, thick welt that will prevent the knife from cutting through, but it holds the knife deep and securely in the sheath. So many factory knives, and unfortunately even some customs, come with substandard sheaths. You won't have to worry about losing your "Woodbear knife" when running, climbing, or if you happen to fall while out in the woods.
The knife itself is, simply outstanding. One sees immediately that Mr. Csorba pays close attention to details. This knife was obviously desinged by someone who knows what a knife is to be used for. The overall dimensions, and perhaps more importantly the proportions, are right on the money. Unfortunately I have not yet had a chance to really put it through its paces, but when conducting a simple test to see how well it cuts paper, I was pleasantly suprised. I expected it to be sharp, but this blade gives a new meaning to the term "razor sharp" because it really is. There should be no problem with performing any of the chores one would expect a "woods knife" to be capable of. The blade itself is surperbly done; the blade geometry, edge geometry, grind profile, even the manner in which the tip is ground, are all flawlessly executed. The grip is exceptionally comfortable (I've got pretty big hands, with long fingers) and the bamboo seems to be quite durable, while at the same time providing excellent purchase, and I'm glad that there's a lanyard hole correctly positioned at the extreme end of the grip, where it doesn't get in the way. Mr. Csorba has an exceptionally fast turn-around time, so you won't have to wait ages for your knife. Mr. Csorba, thank you for making a quality product, at a very reasonable price. If you want an outstanding knife, made by a craftsman who takes great pride in his work, get a "Woodbear" knife. You'll be glad you did."
